$1,500 U.S. Energy Tax Credit Now Available

The United States Department of the Treasury has announced the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 which may give you the break you have been looking for. The IRS is offering a tax credit to homeowners who make energy efficient home improvements.

30% TAX CREDIT

A 30% tax credit, up to $1,500.00, is being offered by the IRS. The Empyre Pro Series Models 100, 200 and 400 and the Empyre Elite Model 100 qualify for this credit due to its high efficiency clean burning heating technology using biomass fuel. The qualifying requirements set out by the Act requires a “stove that uses biomass fuel to heat a dwelling unit or to heat water for use in such a dwelling unit, and that has a thermal efficiency rating of at least 75% as measured using a lower heating value.” The Empyre Pro Series meets & beats this efficiency rating!

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW & DO:

- This tax credit is being offered by the IRS for the qualifying purchase and installment of your high efficiency biomass furnace during the 2009 and 2010 taxation years, that has a thermal efficieny rating of at least 75% as measured using a lower heating value. - Sales Receipt and Certificate Statement must be retained with your tax records.

- Claim your credit when filing your federal taxes for the 2009 or 2010 taxation year.

- A tax credit is more valuable than a tax deduction, as it reduces the tax you pay, dollar for dollar.

CREDIT REQUIREMENTS:

- The allowable tax credit is 30% of the purchase cost, up to $1,500.00.

- Installation of your furnace may also be covered as long as it is required for proper and safe operation of the stove. - Purchases made prior to the announcement of the tax credit qualify with the provision of a Certification Statement from Pro-Fab Industries Inc., retroactive to January 1, 2009.

- The qualifying furnace must be installed in or on a dwelling unit located within the United States and, at the time of installation, the dwelling unit is owned and used by the taxpayer as the taxpayer’s principal residence.
